That’s a relatively minor change, and the confrontation plays out the same for the most part. In the anime, she gets to listen to Aya swear to be with Tsuyuno. Sarina shows up just after Aya says she will call an ambulance in the manga. I’m sure many people would have preferred to see Sarina die, but now she has to live with the fact that Aya saved her life.Īll right, let’s take a look at what was changed from the manga. This whole thing is why the chapters were some of my favourite in the manga, and this episode is one of my favourites of the anime adaptation. Whether it is Aya swearing to protect Tsuyuno no matter the cost to her own body, or even Aya shouting at Sarina how much she made her suffer. The raw emotions from Aya confronting Sarina make for an incredibly memorable scene. I would say that the anime has done the original manga justice. This episode was one that I was looking forward to a lot, because I knew that this would be the point where Aya finally stands up for herself. Small parts of both chapters 18 and 19 were also adapted for this episode (Tsuyuno’s defibrillation and the new magical girl). This episode adapted the last few remaining pages of chapter 13, as well as chapters 14 through to 17. We’ll have to wait until next time to see how that goes, though. It seems she has a plan for the comatose magical girl, and now there is nothing protecting her. The frail magical girl makes her way to Rina Shioi’s room, and pulls out a Stanley knife.
